Function: formulation, coordination, implementation and evaluation of policies related to national defense and the conduct of matters relating to the Armed Forces constituted of the Navy, the Army and the Air Force. One of its main tasks is to establish policies related to defense and security in the country. Has under its responsibility a wide and diverse range of subjects, some of great sensitivity and complexity, for example, military operations.
